Cirrus
2018 - Installation / Interactive Sculpture
Exhibited: Burning Man 2018
Cirrus is a robot that likes to sing about the weather. If given a zip code, Cirrus queries the current weather conditions for that area and translates those conditions to song using a preset standard of variables (ie. windspeed for tempo, temperature for key, etc.) Created utilizing an Honorarium grant from the Burning Man organization, Cirrus was installed for the duration of Burning Man 2018, "I, Robot", and sang over 5,000 songs a day for users.
A full write-up of the journey from conception, to creation, to installation, to leave-no-trace deinstall is available here.
